And the Japanese people made a REAL LIFE house.. based on Satsuki and Mei's house.
(I was reading some article about nature architecture in Japan and came across this.. not too sure about its significance in the 'green' sense (my reading stopped at the picture) but in a 'geek' sense, it's awesome)

There is something un-quaint about the real life one compared to the art version.

I would visit Japan and visit that damn house and then I'll run off to find the tree.. and pray real hard that Tonari no Totoro was an animated documentary. XD
