Kay Nielsen (super long picture post)

As many know, I admire many artists.
Too many for my hard drive to count.
Kay Nielsen (1886 - 1957), however, sits atop my love chart with Yoshitaka Amano and Aya Kato. All three have different styles but all a little surreal with the ability to set my imagination working.
When you see it, you'll understand why I love his work so much. He illustrated alot of fairytales.
Rapunzel, I believe. In Powder And Crinoline, I believe was the name of the book in which this was printed. One of his more popular works. This one reminds me strongly of the story The 12 Dancing Princesses (which is my favourite tale of all time). Don't know if its true but I remember this scene from somewhere though there's only 11 in the picture. I think this is Blue Beard. .. and this one, Hansel and Gretel.
And I've posted this before but I'm gonna post it again because this is my favourite.
