I drink.
That fact has been much established over the years.
But!
Why is it that people find it weird/strange/amazing/fascinating that I like my whiskey, neat?
Take today for example.
I said "Black Label. Neat"
The guy says "With Coke?"
I scowl and say "NO. NEAT"
He says "OH? No mixer for you, miss?"
I glanced at him and say "No. Neat. No mixer, no 'rocks'...." and look at him pointedly to further reinforce my order.
He says "Oh. WOW!"
I think I looked a little offended.
The second time I ordered that, the man that poured me my drink asked me thrice whether I wanted to mix it with water or something else.
3 times.
WHY?
I'm honestly questioning why they doubt me when I say "Neat".
But the bar tonight (we adjourned to a bar after Raymond's birthday dinner for drinks) was honestly QUITE crap.
They only have ONE type of beer. NO stout. NO draught stout.
I think it's safe to say it was one of the crappier bars I've been to but the company made up for the lack of drinks.
