I was bored this afternoon so I went searching for new movies starring Johnny Depp.
:D
And I found a new one that I'm so into right now, I want to read the book it's based off!
Read this synopsis.
"The story is set in Dickensian London. It tells the tale of Benjamin Barker, a naive barber who is transported for life to Botany Bay on a "trumped-up charge". After 15 years, he escapes with the aid of a youthful sailor named Anthony Hope. He returns to London having changed his name to Sweeney Todd to find his wife dead, and his daughter Johanna to be abducted by Judge Turpin, the same man who raped Barker’s wife and sent him to Botany Bay. He rents his old barber shop from Mrs. Lovett, a baker who makes the worst pies in London (the room has been empty since Todd left London). Todd vows to avenge his wife’s death by trying to lure the Judge and his Beadle to his Barber shop and kill them. In the process he also kills other people who cross his path. Mrs. Lovett then comes up with the ingenious idea of disposing of the bodies by baking them into pies. Mrs. Lovett secretly lusts after Todd and wants to get married, but Todd only sees her as a convenient way of covering up his crimes.
In the meantime, Johanna is being forced to marry the perverted Judge Turpin. She and Anthony secretly fall in love and make plans to elope. Anthony confides in Todd about his scheme to carry away Johanna to the other end of England, unaware of the fact that Johanna is Todd's daughter. Todd is heartbroken, but he helps Anthony anyway. The Judge finds out about Johanna's relationship, and is enraged. He locks her up in an asylum where "no corrupting youth shall ever lay eyes on her again," but Anthony only tries harder."

I love the fact that Sweeney kills the people and the lady makes them into pies!
:D:D:D:D
And this part also got me really hooked.
"It has been confirmed that "The Ballad of Sweeney Todd", a spectacular musical number that is performed once at the beginning of the musical and repeated at the end of the show, will be performed by The Ballad Ghosts (as will be portrayed by Christopher Lee, Anthony Head, Peter Bowles, and a group of singers in the film). They are a chorus of ghost-narrators (murdered by Sweeney Todd) that pop in every so often during the story with much shorter reprises of "The Ballad of Sweeney Todd", each time with the same musical theme, but completely different lyrics."
Just so you know, this story was made into a musical before this movie was made.
And guess who's directing the movie?!?!!?!?
TIM BURTON!!!!!!!!!
:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D (x infinity)
I'm very very into it at the moment.
Johnny Depp AND Tim Burton!

Although, I think I'll only be able to watch it next year, if they release it here in Malaysia at all.
Cause the 'limited' screening is only gonna show on the 21st of December.

Right now, I'll go search for The Libertine, The man who cried, Once upon a time in Mexico, Secret Window, From Hell, What's eating Gilbert Grape, The Corpse Bride, Edward Scissorhand, Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow and A Nightmare on Elm Street cause I wanna watch them all! I've watched some but not others.
